In 2022 I was invited to become a freeman of the Gold & Silver Wyre Drawers Guild. This year the guild celebrates it’s 400th anniversary with this very special exhibition at the Guildhall Art Gallery in the City of London.

I will be exhibiting a pair of oxidised silver Gloves and an oxidised silver & 18ct gold Necklace.

‘Step into the extraordinary world of exquisite craftsmanship and historical significance with the "Treasures of Gold and Silver Wire" exhibition. This awe-inspiring showcase, marking the 400th anniversary of the Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers, will mesmerize visitors with a stunning collection of over 200 rare and beautiful items made of gold and silver wire sourced from Royalty, the Arts, Military, Ecclesiastical, and Civil sources as well as stunning modern creations.  Many of these objects, never seen before in public, will be on display, inviting audiences of all ages to embark on a spectacular journey’

Thoughtfully and beautifully curated by Dr Frances Parton, this exhibition focuses on selected works including drawing/designs from Professor Dorothy Hogg’s archive, including work by her colleagues that she worked with and selected students she taught. Professor Dorothy Hogg MBE (1945-2022) was Head of Department at Edinburgh College of Art between 1985-2007.

As a colleague of Dorothy’s for 18 years I am delighted to have work included from the Goldsmith’s Collection in this celebratory exhibition.

Exhibition catalogue available.

As part of the 2023 Talk programme, Dr Frances Parton will be exploring Hogg’s life and work. More details & booking info. here
