Susan Cross will be exhibiting a series of enamel jewellery as part of Nexus – Meetings from the Edge. This body of work reflects her interests in studying Elizabethan blackwork embroidery popular during the 16th & 17th Centuries.

50 Secrets of Magic Craftsmanship
Susan Cross will be exhibiting specially selected jewellery alongside research test pieces that give some insight into the meticulous, hands on research that is undertaken towards designing her final works.

New Acquisition for V&A Dundee
This brooch ‘Loop the loop series – eclipse’ was designed and made in 2004 and has been acquired by the V&A, Dundee as part of the new permanent collection of contemporary Scottish jewellery.

The Scottish Gallery will be showcasing a new enamel jewellery collection from Susan Cross who has been selected for the prestigious international contemporary jewellery exhibition ‘Schmuck 2017’ (69th International Trade Fair, Munich 2017). Susan will be the sole representative from the UK.

Ness of Brodgar collection for Ola Gorie, Orkney, Scotland
During the past year I have designed a new collection of gold & silver jewellery for Ola Gorie, Orkney.
Invited to work in collaboration with both Ola Gorie & Ingrid Tait, this collection takes as its inspiration 5,000-year-old archeological findings unearthed from the Ness of Brodgar; an extraordinary excavation that lies central to ancient ceremonial sites on mainland Orkney, Scotland.

I am delighted to have been selected for this prestigious, international contemporary jewellery exhibition and will be the sole representative from the UK.

Heat Exchange 2
New work for this exhibition references research study of Elizabethan blackwork embroidery dating from the late 16th early 17th Century period.
The self-destructing nature of the dyed black thread (through corrosion) has over time left traces of the needle point on finely woven white linen. It is these qualities that have inspired a new collection of work in enamel.
